The KPOE-100 is a device designed as a mid-span power over Ethernet PSE, which is equipped with one-input and one-output RJ-45 connectors to connect directly to an Ethernet cable. It delivers power together with the Ethernet data lines over the Category 5 cable to a PoE powered device such as a wireless access point or a media converter located at place where no commercial outlet is available. KPOE-100 is an IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE PSE injector. Power over Ethernet (PoE) provides a way for network devices to be powered by their data cables rather than by separate power cords. The most popular PoE standard is the IEEE 802.3af specification, which uses DC power over any grade of UTP wire, including Category 3, 5, 5e, and 6. The specification is compatible with standard Ethernet UTP hardware without requiring modification. KPOE-100 supports both fast Ethernet connection and Gigabit Ethernet connection. For no damage to the connected PD, it is enhanced with smart design to discover compliant PD. It shuts down the power immediately when incompliance is discovered.
