Who?


Orfit Industries develops and produces the most precise and reliable thermoplastic materials for medical devices. The family-owned company has opened a new building in Wijnegem, fully in line with their grow plans.


Discorp has assisted Orfit in the design and installation of the meeting and polyvalent rooms in this new building.

The challenge


Orfit aims for a substantial growth. This is one of the reasons why they are fully committed to innovation with their new factory.


Orfit wants this to be reflected not only in their production and logistics department, but also in their meeting rooms and visitor centre. The objective was to create state-of-the-art spaces so that the entire company helped exude Orfit’s innovative vision.


Discorp made a proposal regarding the design and installation of several meeting rooms and a large polyvalent room, to help position Orfit as an innovative, future-proof company.

The solutions


Orfit had some requirements concerning the rooms. They had to be modern and high-end, but also user-friendly and easy to support. Intergration with Microsoft Teams also had to be possible.

Polyvalent room


Orfit had the need for a multipurpose room, which could be used to give local presentations on the one hand, but also with the ability to let people participate remotely via the Microsoft Teams platform.


There were some requirements for this space as well:

  • For local presentations, the ability to display two laptops on the screens;
  • Possibility of using one or two screens;
  • Microphone for local speakers as well as remote participants;
  • Camera that can show the entire room or zoom in on specific areas as required.

As the requirements for the polyvalent room could not be met with a simple plug-and-play solution, a customised solution from Q-SYS was chosen.


Q-SYS is a cloud-managed audio, video, and control platform built around a modern IT architecture. All desired settings related to audio and video, as well as the user interface, can be programmed from scratch in the Q-SYS platform.


This has some large benefits, including:

  • Possibility of customisation;
  • All settings are in one central platform;
  • Programming and management happen in the same ecosystem;
  • Greater flexibility: if additional settings and/or adjustments need to be made later, this is always possible;
  • Highly visual system (drag & drop) making settings and interface design accessible to anyone with the necessary knowledge.

Classic meeting rooms


The meeting rooms were equipped with an LG UP75 65’’ LED screen combined with a Logitech Rally video conferencing system. Discorp handled the installation and integration of these rooms from A-Z.

Energy Bar


An additional training/presentation room, that has been equipped with a Sony VPL-PHZ60 projector combined with a Projecta 10103571 projection screen and Audac audio systm.

Digital signage


Discorp also handled the installation of the digital signage in the corridors. The digital signage is done from a Brightsign HD224 mounted behind each LG UP75 65’’ screen.

Collaboration


Orfit came to Discorp on the recommendation of several manufacturers. “We were looking for a partner who could really offer a custom-made solution according to the needs we had for the different spaces”, says Pascal Delrue, IT Architect bij Orfit. “We are extremely satisfied with the final result.
