ISE 2025
First Impressions
The technical team noted that the fair was bigger and busier than ever this year. "The fair is alive, and the brands present are still investing heavily to inspire their customers and showcase their latest products," said Simon. To see the real innovations, our team had to delve deeper into the various stands. Tom Nys talks about the collaborations between different brands that jointly enter the market. Brands like Crestron and Qsys, for example, like to emphasize their integration with other brands with which their systems are compatible. Other brands, such as Yealink and Logitech, like to show that their extensive range of products can equip all meeting rooms with the right technology.New Technologies & Trends
During the ISE fair, our team members noticed several new technologies and trends that were particularly interesting. Overall, the Cisco Experience with the Apple Vision Pro was a big eye-catcher.
Wannes Pacquee was impressed by FlatFrog, a new player with an unknown product that provides further integration on an MTR in combination with a touchscreen. "This is something other companies currently cannot offer," he believes. He also emphasized the general trend of 'collaboration,' with integrated whiteboards and 3D environments, which can further expand collaboration with remote meeting participants.
Simon Vankrunkelsven found 3D videoconferencing and the integration of AI in products and software exciting. These technologies offer new possibilities for interaction and efficiency in various applications.
Bart Verelst noticed the "Control" software from Zebrix, although he did not see any real trends, except for the integrated AI in many products and the declining price trend of LED walls. "These developments can improve the accessibility and functionality of technologies," concludes Bart.
Tom Nijs mentioned some interesting observations, such as the complete Yealink installation of a meeting room with a ceiling microphone, dual camera, audio processing, and speakers. Although this is not new technology, it offers a comprehensive solution for meeting rooms. He also noted that many manufacturers focus on an AV-over-IP story, offering more flexibility within proposed installations. However, this will mean that AV technicians will need to (re)train more in the network field. Finally, he found the TiLED dvLED Wall Mounts from LegrandAV / Chief remarkable. This wall mount allows for three directions of a tile to be adjusted during construction, resulting in a perfectly flat tile LED wall.
Impact on the Market
Simon Vankrunkelsven believes that AI has a significant impact on the videoconferencing market and will continue to transform it in the coming years. AI improves videoconferencing in various ways. First, Natural Language Processing (NLP) makes it possible to automatically manipulate speech and text, leading to features such as speech-to-text transcription, automatic notes, and real-time translations. This makes meetings more accessible and efficient. Additionally, smart meetings, enabled by AI, increase efficiency by automatically scheduling meetings, sending reminders, and even rescheduling meetings if necessary.
Computer Vision, another AI technology, can analyze facial expressions and body language to measure participant engagement and make suggestions to improve interaction. AI also enhances audio and video quality by reducing background noise, amplifying the speaker's voice, and automatically muting participants' microphones when someone else is speaking. This ensures clearer and more focused communication.
Finally, AI plays a crucial role in securing virtual communication by detecting and preventing threats. These innovations make meetings not only more efficient but also more inclusive and secure.
Bart Verelst notes that controlling and managing hardware from different brands will enable IT managers to handle investments and budgets more efficiently in the medium and long term. "AI is on a steep rise and will be indispensable in our daily work within 5 years."
Tom Nijs sees that AVoverIP will provide more flexibility within AV installations. This offers new possibilities but also requires that networks are optimised to make use of this technology. He emphasizes that this is an important development that will change the way AV systems are implemented and managed.
Impressive Products and Services
When asked what left the most impression at ISE, opinions were varied. The Apple Vision Pro was enthusiastically mentioned by several team members. "The technology of Cisco's Spatial Webex meetings in combination with the Room Bar Pro and an Apple Vision Pro offers participants a 3D view of the meeting room. The demo clearly shows what is possible, but a specific application is not yet available," says Wannes.
Another impressive stand was that of QSC, which offered inspiration through an interactive demo tour about the possibilities of their products.
Furthermore, the Yealink MTower (360 camera) was found to operate very smoothly, outperforming other brands with similar solutions. HP Poly is lagging here, as their solution will only be available in the summer, and Logitech Sight has been around longer but is less performant and efficient. The Control Software was also mentioned as an impressive service.
Finally, the TiLED dvLED Wall Mounts were again highlighted as a product that can save hours during the installation of an LED wall. The Flatfrog Teamtablet Flex will soon be tested at Discorp after this product left an impression on Discorp's technical team.
